VILLARALTO, CÓRDOBA, SPAIN
Located in the north west of Villaralto, this proposal for 26 single-family homes seeks to create a coherent whole, contributing to a greater sense of order in the area and helps to define the limits of the town centre. The external appearance of the group of homes combines elements of modern language with local tradition in a composition which seeks the interplay of light and shade within the whole. The distribution of the different built structures and green spaces is conceived to promote natural air circulation during the summer months. The homes, combining rationality and economy, are specifically conceived for this area, incorporating into the architecture the landscape, culture and traditional Andalusian “white house” style. The interior distribution aims at simplicity, utility and a connection with the landscape thanks to terraces and the porch-cum-garage which acts as a hallway, designed to be shaded in summer and flooded by sunlight in winter.
