A design tendered for the restoration of the historic centre of Athens (Rethink Athens), this series of intelligent pergolas, strategically located in a number of streets and squares, provides a variety of services whilst improving the thermal comfort of users. These “activity trees” were designed using active and passive bioclimatic strategies in order to heat or cool the surroundings, depending on the outside temperature, and using natural resources.
