The basis of this design proposal resides in the bioclimatic concept of the project which leads to energy saving throughout its useful life:

• Functional flexibility thanks to the symmetric distribution of the housing units which allows the distribution to be modified in winter and summer.
• Open-ended housing units with double orientation and cross ventilation.
• Uniformity of types of home.
• Greenhouses built onto terraces to improve natural air conditioning.
• Reduction in shape coefficient by seeking the most compact form possible in order to reduce the surface-to-volume ratio of the façade.
• The construction system of each façade is in accordance with its orientation. The southern façade features polycarbonate greenhouses and solar protection systems. The thermal inertia of the northern façade is achieved by the use of thermal clay blocks, providing high levels of insulation in order to minimise energy loss.
