The basis of this design proposal resides in the bioclimatic concept of the project which leads to energy saving throughout its useful life. This strategy consists of:

• The inclusion of passive bioclimatic systems which aid the collection, storage and distribution of warm air during the winter by way of south-facing solar chimneys, and of cool air in summer through cold perforations.
• Open-ended housing units with double orientation and cross ventilation.
• Use of enclosure systems adapted to the orientation and according to thermal needs.
• The interplay of volumes on the southern façade and the enclosure system of the terraces facilitate the creation of shade in order to avoid direct sunlight during the hottest months of the year when the angle of the sun is at its highest.
